Product description

Inspired by decades of legendary hiking boots, we partnered with Vibram to forge a new path in hiking footwear. The combination of the Vibram SPE midsole and Fuga outsole gives unparalleled grip on wet and dry surfaces while providing superior cushioning without the weight. Designed to withstand the summer climate and terrain of the Pacific Northwest, we utilized a carbon-washed textile upper and an air mesh liner for breathability in warm temperatures. The Mountain 600 defines a new category in hiking boots we call Performance Heritage - combining our classic styling with lightweight innovation.

These boots are great. They look better to me in person, which was a surprise. I obviously don’t expect them to last as long as a $300 pair of leather USA made Danner boots, but for the price I paid (130$) they seem great. They are very lightweight. They seem water resistant but I wouldn’t submerge them. The two Vibram compounds in the sole create a very stable and comfortable platform. The materials around the ankle are a bit rough and feel very uncomfortable when the boot is tight, even with wool socks as a barrier, so I wear them a little loose and it seems to solve the problem. There’s a seam on the inner side of each boot that looks like it will be the first place to eventually come apart. One cool and unexpected thing I’ve noticed about the boots is how quiet they are. When you walk on pavement you hardly hear them at all. Great for sneaking up on enemies.

I bought these as I wanted to try something other than the traditional leather hiking boots. I had worn these boots on some basic trail hikes and have had no issues...no break in needed and no problems with hot spots/blisters, so I took them with me to the mountains of North Carolina, near Mt. Mitchell, on very steep trails. Encountered wet conditions, rocks, dirt, and mud. The grip of the soles was great and the flexibility of the upper material was excellent. They will obviously get your feet wet as they are not waterproof but they didn't gain any appreciable weight once they were wet. I wore Danner's sometimes in the military but these are much more comfortable. I will have to wear them some more to test their abrasion resistance of the new fabric. Overall, my favorite lighter weight hiking boots...would recommend. Also Danner recommends a half size smaller...I didn't listen and had to send the first pair back.

I’ve had these boots for about a month. They fit perfectly, grip well over loose terrain, super comfy, even over the course of a 9 day backpacking trip. They’re also super light, and good looking till you actually hike/ break em in.

However I’ve probably not even put 100 miles on them and the “tough” fiber woven upper material has several snags in it, is fraying at the ankle area and the toe box/cap is coming unglued on both feet. I thought Danners would be a little higher quality but overall I still like them for my first pair of hiking boots.

I've been looking for a (non-Goretex) boot that was dressy enough to wear to the office or out to dinner and not scream "tactical!" but would still serve me well in an E&E or any other kind of SHTF situation. These boots fit the bill; stylish enough to wear on a date, but they are light, have great tread, good support and typical Danner quality. I bought the brown pair but will probably end up purchasing the black one at some point. I wish they came in grey, but c'est la vie.

I like these boots. They look good and seem to be very sturdy and well made. After breaking them in on a few hikes, they have become comfortable. I expect to use them for years to come. They are a good value, compared to some brands I have bought at a similar price, which fall apart pretty fast.

Just received these boots and took a first hike today, so very early impressions. Appear to be very well made, especially in contrast to most hot weather hikers. The inner liner around the heel (achilles) looks to be a little stiff and lacking padding, but they were very comfortable on the hike; didn't notice any problems in that area. Very comfortable out of the box. Lightweight and at the same time stable and supportive. Only time will tell, but first impressions are that they breathe very well without allowing dust and dirt through the fabric. Looks like they will be excellent hot weather hikers for a good long time.

Broke them in with a 8 mile hike with some verticals and downhill inclines which tested them. My foot stayed in place without any extreme lacing. they are the lightest boot to date. I have Merrill, timberland, and a couple other leather stiff boots. These Danner's were by far the best performing, lightest, comfortable and have exceptional grip across wet rocks, moss, loose rocks, loose dirt etc. Great pair of boots!
